Philip Miller (1691 - December 18, 1771) was a botanist of Scottish descent.
Miller was chief gardener at the Chelsea Physic Garden from 1721 until shortly before his death.
Miller was reluctant to use the new binomial nomenclature of Carolus Linnaeus, preferring the classifications of Joseph Pitton de Tournefort and John Ray at first.

Philip Miller, who was a 5' 11" laborer, joined Company F of the 48th OVVI on 1 February 1862, at Defiance, Ohio for a three year enlistment.
On 29 February 1864, Philip Miller mustered out of the 48th OVVI at Berwick City, La. He was discharged by virtue of his reenlistment as a veteran volunteer under the provisions of General Order 191 series of 1863.
Philip Miller is the great-great grandfather of Ronald G. and David A. Garner.

Miller's sales volume in the United States was up 1.6%, to 9.50 million barrels, compared with 9.35 million barrels sold during the first quarter of 2001, Philip Morris said in its earnings announcement Wednesday.
Miller's sales volume, while an improvement, was not as strong as the fourth-quarter performance, said Benj Steinman, publisher and editor of Beer Marketer's Insights.
On a continuing basis, Miller's first-quarter operating profit was $130 million, a 4.8% increase over the $124 million reported during the first quarter of last year.

Colleagues who knew Philip Miller are remembering the Kent Air Force ROTC cadet who died when his helicopter crashed during a training exercise Friday.
Fox said that Miller, who turned 30 in April, was known as "Little Miller," because his brother, Ed, was also in the ROTC at the time.
Miller is survived by his parents; his wife, Kathy; and two daughters, a 4-year-old and a 10-week-old.

In 1768 Miller compared the African Scarlet Lily to the Guernsey Lily in form, but noted that it did not often bloom in England.
Since Miller published Liger's descriptions, we need not assume that all three plants were grown in England in 1724.
