Philips does not own what was GTE Sylvania as some may think as that name is now owned by the light bulb division of Siemens, AG.

 SACD News: Opus3 Records Release the Global Percussion Network’s ‘Rauk’ [HFR]
It’s the first SACD disc from Opus3 to have been produced specifically for the format and was recorded using Direct Stream Digital (DSD) throughout the entire signal path.
Unlike previous Opus3 releases, whereby the surround channels were used largely to convey the acoustics of the recording venue, ‘Rauk’ features a “broadened stereo picture”, wherein the performers are positioned around to the sides of one’s listening space.

 Erik Satie: clips from other news groups
Tower Records in NY at 4th St. had Vol 2-5 of the EMI release of the C. Satie in its cut-out bins at the bargain store, about 6 weeks ago and probably still there.
The asterisks indicate that the work(s) thus marked were recorded in the seventies, together with works orchestrated by Satie himself, by the Utah SO/Maurice Abravanel on two Cardinal LPs.
I recorded 45 minutes of this on a cassette, which I later used sucessfully as a relaxation tape to combat the insomnia with which I was then troubled.

The present disc, recorded with close but faithful sound, is for Satie enthusiasts only.
The way of recording were not very good, so Reinbert de Leeuw decided to make new digital recordings.

This record is dated 1988 and was published in Italy by EMI Italiana Ref No. 090 7917112.
I was just listening to a recording by a pop/indie group called Folk Implosion, and one of their tunes on the _Kids_ movie soundtrack features a sample from "Trois Gymnopedies." I was shocked and amazed to hear it.
There's not yet a recording of the 4th movement of Choses vues, but the complete edition was published in 1997 (copyright 1995) by Salabert (distributed, I think, by Ricordi, in New York).
