The apostle exhorts the Philippians to stand fast in the Lord.
God's grace and favour, which reconciled souls enjoy, with the whole of the graces in us, which flow from it, are all purchased for us by Christ's merit, and applied by his pleading for us; and therefore are justly called the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Many consider their chosen status to be humbling, as it requires them to live to make greater sacrifices than others.
An example of this type of thought is exhibited in the Christian writing, Phillipians 2:5-8: "Your attitude should be the same that Christ Jesus had.
Though he was God, he did not demand and cling to his rights as God.

In Phillipians chapter 4 verse 22 Paul states that “Caesers’ household” sends greetings.
Thus we understand that Phillipians was likely written from Rome and the book of Phillipians tells us what Paul was thinking of in Rome.

Bible Book No. 50 - Phillipians
About 10 years after establishing the congregation, Paul wrote the letter of Phillipians, which is now preserved as the 50th Book of the Bible.
He counsels them to ‘behave in a manner worthy of the good news.’ He reminds them of the mental attitude of Christ - how he, although the son of God, took the form of a man and humbled himself before men on the earth.
The generosity of the Phillipians in materially aiding Paul and his fellow missionaries is well commented on in Paul’s letter, as is the unity of the brothers when under trial.

 PHILLIPIANS 2:
To start a discussion of Phillipians 2:6 New World Translation proper it might be best to quote at length a criticism that appeared way back in the early 1950's by a well-known and (in many circles) a well respected scholar of New Testament Greek.
In 1953 Bruce M. Metzger wrote an article in Theology Today, 'The Jehovah's Witnesses and Jesus Christ, A Biblical and Theological Appraisal'(Later copies of the article were put in pamphlet form and were sold for 15 cents each or 8 copies for 1$).
Metzger is not clear what he means by a "characteristic twist" but this description probably infers that the translation by the NWTTC has offered a 'theologically conditioned' rendition.
