Philonoe sat immobile in her chair for a moment, then very slowly picked up a piece of the tasty goat-head meat and put it in her mouth.
Philonoe looked up and sighed, forced by her superior intelligence and breeding to answer her dim witted husband (who had once seemed so mighty and powerful, but now just hung around the palace stinking up the joint).
Philonoe sighed again, "Because I found a recipe for Greek style lamb chops and beans on a website and did something similar OK? Now shut up and eat around the dragon's tail - there's a juicy bit of lion there, what's wrong with that?"

Xena had tossed her sword to the ground and was already swimming furiously through the water, the chakram gripped tightly in one fist.

Philonoe blinked back tears and then she and Bellerophon leaned over Gabrielle.

Philonoe nodded and Xena gently took her arm and led her toward the chamber door.
It had been painful to see Philonoe so grieved and shocked, and he had the feeling that Xena didn’t quite believe his story.

Bellerophon is rewarded for his goodness in this story by the gods, receiving guidance in his quest to complete his task and in the harnessing of Pegasus.
This is a tale of redemption, also, as Bellerophon is unjustly accused of a misdeed and forced to protect his honor by battling the Chimera and ultimately winning the hand of his love, Philonoe.
The imagery in this story would stand well on its own without benefit of illustration.

World War 1 and 2 - Leda (mythology)
In Greek mythology, Leda was a Spartan queen, wife of Tyndareus and mother of the double sets of mixed twins, Castor and Polydeuces and Clytemnestra and Helen, as well as Phoebe and Philonoe.
As the myth developed, it appeared that on a single night Zeus, in the guise of a swan, lay with Leda, who conceived Polydeuces (Pollux) and Helen "of Troy", and her mortal husband, Tyndareus, king of Sparta, lay with his wife too, with whom she conceived Castor and Clytemnestra.

Iobates produced the letter from Proetus and asked Bellerophon for an explanation.
When he learned the truth the king implored his guest's forgiveness, offered him his daughter Philonoe (also known as Anticlea or Cassandra) in marriage, and made him heir to the Lycian throne.
Wouldn't it be great if the story ended right there, and everyone lived happily ever after?
