For his paper on the Iguanodon, published in the Philosophical Transactions for the year 1848, being a continuation of a series of papers by him on the same fossil reptile, by which he has rendered eminent services to geology.

The library appears to be receiving two copies of The Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London: Biological Sciences, one at the Medical Library and one at Kline Science Library.
The Transactions would not be allowed to circulate but could be consulted in a secure reading room at Sterling Memorial Library (or should this be the Beinecke reading room?).

Within three years from the granting of the first Charter, Henry Oldenburg, the first Secretary, began publishing Philosophical Transactions in March 1665 and it has continued ever since.
From 1887 onward, beginning with volume 178, the Transactions have been divided into two series: Series A, (Mathematics and Physical sciences) and Series B, (Biology).
Transactions are published monthly and now include papers presented at Discussion Meetings as well as specific themes and reviews.
