| | Merton College: subjects - Philosophy, Politics and Economics (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-11-06) |
 | | PPE graduates pursue careers in a wide range of areas including the financial sector, the law, the civil and diplomatic services, economic and management consultancy, journalism, research and teaching. |
 | | Very few who read philosophy go on to do research in the subject, but the training in the analysis and criticism of complex arguments, in paying attention to assumptions that are being taken for granted, and in careful and accurate presentation of difficult issues, provides a skill that is valuable in many different careers. |
 | | There are two ways of studying Politics at Merton; the traditional and popular combination has been with Philosophy and Economics (PPE), but for those applying for entry from 1999 there is the option of a new joint honours degree in Politics and Modern History. |
