Role of women in Christian churches of Paul's day
So, Paul writes this as a recommendation for Phoebe who is probably the president of the Christian community in Cenchreae and a deacon that is a preacher -- not a helper and a deaconess.
So he says philologically you cannot bring evidence that this was a man Junias rather than a woman Junia, but he says that since it's not thinkable that a woman was an apostle, we have to read the male name Junias.

 Chapter 11: THE SINGLE WOMAN
For the single woman it is just as important as for the married woman to understand the fundamental laws of nature which God has ordained for man's highest good and that are deeply embedded in the whole structure of her being.
The fact that a woman is single means that she does not enter into cooperation with a man in a home and a family, but she should not lose sight of the fact that normal cooperation with men remains open to her in every other sphere.
The believing woman is born of the Spirit, a member of the Body of Christ, a priest of royal lineage, responsible to serve in the things of God as the Holy Spirit manifests himself through her.

Christians are not to force Christian moral standards on non-Christians, but on the basis of the natural knowledge of the law Christian citizens may seek to influence society to practice these principles to as great a degree as possible.
If a Christian woman through responsibility for her property or needed employment finds herself in a position where she is placed over men, she should try to exercise her responsibility with an attitude and demeanor that shows her respect for the biblical principles and which does not diminish the men's sense of responsibility for leadership.
If a woman can properly serve in a position, such as an evangelism visitor, it does not make any essential difference whether she is elected, appointed or volunteers for that position or whether she is called an evangelist or a member of the evangelism committee.

Phoebe Palmer, the mother of the Wesleyan/Holiness Movement who popularized John Wesley's doctrine in the United States, made power a central element of her doctrine of holiness.10 Her theology refutes Hudson's generalization.

Phoebe traveled to Rome from Cenchrea (Keng-khreh-a'-hee); which was the eastern harbor area of Corinth where Paul was living at that time.
Right after Paul introduces Phoebe and reveals that she is a minister of the church at Cenchrea, he refers to her by the Greek word, "prostatis" (pros-tat'-is) that is translated only "succourer" by the King James, and "helper" by other versions.

Worship and Church Music Theology FAQs - Role of the Christian woman in the family, church and society
Many Christians believe very fervently that, while husbands should certainly love their wives as Christ loves the church and gave himself for it, God has divinely appointed the husband to be the one who makes the final decision in matters within the family.
If a woman remains single, this role is to be provided by her father or some other older married male.
Because these Christians believe that their conviction on these issues is rooted in holy scripture, and they desire to be Christians obedient to God, they will not yield to today's politically correct values, which to not subscribe to these policies.

When a woman's name appeared in the text in conjunction with word "diakonos," the KJV translator rendered the word as "servant." In Romans 16:1, KJV describes Phoebe as "a servant of the church which is at Cenchreae." In his living Bible, Kenneth Taylor describes Phoebe only as "a dear Christian woman from of Cenchreae!"
There Phoebe is described as "a deaconess of the Church at Cenchreae."
This is another prime example that the translator for KJV did hold a stereotype on the authority of woman.
