A photo op, short for photo opportunity, is a carefully planned human event that results in a memorable and effective (A picture of a person or scene in the form of a print or transparent slide; recorded by a camera on light-sensitive material) photograph.
One attribute of a photo op, which differentiates the photo op from a (A conference at which press and tv reporters ask questions of a politician or other celebrity) news conference, is that no questions are permitted to be asked of the subject.
Thus, photo ops are often criticized as being a method by which the politician or other photo-op subject avoids having to answer potentially embarrassing questions from the (Newspapers and magazines collectively) news media, or to respond to potentially embarrassing situations.

A couple days after Christmas, Sabrina and I headed to a local discount store (Ends in "Mart" and begins with the same letter of the alphabet as King Kobra--do the math) to exchange a non-working toy she received for Christmas.
Now I could have been very upset with her or even disappointed, but at that moment, I realized that she was the little girl of the same guy who made his dad stand in the photo with him for pictures and made his mom stay all day during Kindergarten the first day.
I'll be posting photos when I have time during the day to stop down and shoot a few photos.
