The most familiar photographic process depends upon the fact that certain silver compounds (called halides) are sensitive to light.
A photographic film is coated with these compounds and, in a camera, is exposed to light.
Photographers can decide which photographs they want to print out, and can also digitally alter images, by using a photopaint program to enhance or remove different features.

Experience Belize's Celebrated Three Rs: Ruins, Rainforest, and Reef
Belize shares a colorful and diverse culture and languages with a friendly populace of barely 200,000, consisting of a harmonious mix of Mestizos, Indians, Creoles, Mayans, Garifuna, Spanish, Mennonite, Lebanese, Chinese, and Brits (left over from the country's days as British Honduras).
Belize was once home to more than a million Mayans, and thousands of years later, over 600 jungle-veined ruins remain as testament to the inventive Mayan civilization.
Belize is for the natural traveler who appreciates both culture and beauty and is willing to expend a little effort in seeing it.

The Belize Postclassic project is a long term program of research devoted to understanding processes of cultural change that occurred in northern Belize after the 10th century collapse of Classic period political centers in the southern lowlands.
The Belize Postclassic Project is committed to pursuing the analysis of political structure in northern Belize through using independent archaeological investigation to test and refine models extracted from ethnohistory of the Chetumal Province.
Prior to this project’s inception, it was not known that in northern Belize, Maya populations established island villages and rebuilt their society in the rural, aquatic "backroads" of the Belize frontier.

In Belize, there is no such duty, although I suspect that most of the inspiration for the provisions of Belize's Environmental Protection Act and the Regulations on the EIA is derived from the U.K. with the influence of the European Union Directives.
Because under Belize's law at the moment, neither the Act nor its Regulations require that the grant of permission be based on a statement that an EIA in respect of the project to which it relates, has been taken into account and to state that this was in fact done.
It would, however, seem that under the laws of Belize at present, by the scheme and provisions of both the Act and the Regulations on EIA, the preferred route for the enforcement of compliance with the Act and the Regulations on EIA, is through the criminal law.

 Belize Guide - Paul Glassman
If you're coming overland from Belize, you'll face a traveller's dilemma at this point: turn northward directly to Tikal; stay in one of the accommodations in the immediate area; or continue to Flores, where there are many hotels.
The road from Belize is quite rough to the junction with the highway from Flores to Tikal, though it is passable in a passenger sedan throughout the year, with caution.
Though the building of a road through the Petén to Belize remained a dream for many years, nothing was done about it, and Flores and the towns of the area remained isolated outposts, subsisting on corn-and-bean agriculture, and sending workers out to bleed chicle trees in the jungle.
