The inclined plane permits one to overcome a large resistance by applying a relatively small force through a longer distance than the load is to be raised.
Other simple machines based on the inclined plane include the blade, in which two inclined planes placed back to back allow the two parts of the cut object to move apart using less force than would be needed to pull them apart in opposite directions.
Detailed understanding of inclined planes and their use helped lead to the understanding of how vector quantities such as forces can be usefully decomposed and manipulated mathematically.

The key to solving problems involving an incline plane is to resolve the force-vectors acting on the block (or blocks) into components that are either parallel or perpendicular to the surface of the incline plane.
As long as a block stays in contact with the surface of the incline plane, the sum of the forces on that block that are perpendicular to the incline plane will be equal to zero and the motion of the block will be along the surface of the incline plane.
The coefficient of friction between the block and the incline plane, the applied force, the angle of the incline plane, and the mass of the block can be varied.

If the plane is moving along a conveyer belt that doesn't allow any displacement of the craft itself, then the air speed required to lift the plane isn't there.
As the plane gains speed on the belt, the belt will cause a slight increase in drag from friction in the wheel bearings, but the load on the engine is largely due to the airflow around the plane.
The plane most certainly will take off! Thrust from its engines acts on the surrounding air--has nothing to do with the ground or the belt the plane is on.
