Rydz was Honorary Doctor of the Universities of Warsaw and Vilna and Warsaw Polytechnic and Honorary Citizen of various Polish cities.
Edward Rydz-Śmigły ( March 11, 1886 - December 2, 1941); nom de guerre Śmigły, Tarłowski, Adam Zawisza) was a Polish politician, an officer of the Polish Army, painter and poet.
