Many Polish citizens who declared its Polish roots were removed from their properties and send to prisoners and concentration camps, many of them were later executed.
Some of the most prominent names killed in Piasnica were priest Walter Hoeft, Władysław Cieszyński, priest Jerzy Majewski in Dachau, priest Jerzy Majewski and Władysław Szymański in Stutthof, Brunon Brzoskowski and Józef Ossowski in Sachsenhausen.
To remember their names and sacrifice the monument was erected in March 22, 1985 with names of 74 Poles who were killed by Germans in Sopot.

 Albert Forster
Despite his relatively mild administration of occupied Polish Territory, Forster was responsible of expulsion of several hundred thousands Poles to the General Governement and Stutthof concentration camp.
He was also one of the responsibles for mass murder at Piasnica, where approximately 60 000 Polish and Kashub inteligentsia were killed.
After the war he was condemed by Polish court for war crimes and crimes against humanity, and was hanged in 1947.

I don't think the Germans treated Kashubians in Pomerania any differently than Poles: they were both Slavic second-class subjects of the German Reich.
Exactly, first mass murder in WWII was at Piasnica in October and November 1939 where 12-15.000 Kashubians and Poles were murdered by Germans.
But later, at the end of WWII, some Kashubians were forced to sign Volksliste and were incorporated to Wehrmacht.

Here our railway workers, postmen, customs officers are brought, along with all the parents whose kids attended Polish schools, and activists of Polish community organizations...
Subsequently, the beaten and tortured prisoners went through a selection process: some were immediately executed, some were send to the Stutthof Concentration Camp, some were murdered in the forests of Piasnica, some were detained in Gestapo jails, in order to torture them for information.
It was intended not only to kill people, but to kill every Polish thougth, every Polish feeling.
