  Pictionary
Pictionary is a team board game in which players try to identify specific words which their teammates' drawings try to illustrate under time pressure.
The drawer chooses a card out of a deck of special Pictionary cards (similar to Trivial Pursuit), and tries to draw pictures which suggest the word printed on the card.
Instead of using the special Pictionary cards, the opposing team chooses the word out of a dictionary or other book.

The transition from the tabletop to the desktop isn't always a smooth one, but the PC version of Pictionary does a remarkable job ob of capturing the frenzied drawing, wild guessing, and leap-from-your-chair gymnastics that the board game inspires.
Pictionary for the PC can be played by two to four teams or by one to four individual players.
Pictionary's biggest limits are the size of the teams and the size of the screen.

What makes Pictionary a better buy than the other two is that it has more cards and that the difficult level on the words are where they should be.
I played Pictionary with some friends last night and during All Play, a team member from another team was watching OUR team draw the word.

Pictionary seldom uses words; in fact, it is unknown if he speaks any language at all.
Instead, he uses a broad collection of one-liner captioned images to convey his ideas which, most of the time, are simply provocative comments to a debate already in place.
Pictionary, for the most part, will only post when either a clear winner is in sight (whose side he will take) or if the battle turns into a stalemate.

As you can imagine, the biggest obstacle the makers of the computerized version of Pictionary faced was how to replicate the drawing aspect of the game without requiring users to own a computer stylus or pen tool.
While all of these are clever alternatives to the drawing gameplay one would expect with Pictionary, they make for a very different game than one would expect.
Pictionary would be utterly useless as a single-player game.

Pictionary is one example where the only defined resources for communication are drawing tools.
Yet often people rely more on shared histories; even if they are newly acquainted there is a local history of drawings and guesses that can be utilized.
