Mother Mash review - Restaurants - Time Out London
The problem with London's traditional pie and mash shops, historic and characterful though they are, is that their pie and mash isn't very good.
On our visit, the classic mash had a gummy, dense texture, of the kind you get when you add cold milk to hot potatoes - both milk and potato need to be hot for the mash to turn into a pleasing, beaten texture.
Mother Mash might not usurp the Square Pie Company's pole position as London's premier piemaker, but their caff is a very nice place to sit for a satisfying and inexpensive meal.
