Piedmont Airlines is a division of the US Airways Group However, the name "Piedmont Airlines" usually refers to an earlier airline that was, during its heyday, one of America's largest airline companies.
Piedmont began operations with the DC-3 but added the Fairchild F27, the Martin 4-0-4 and the Fairchild-Hiller FH 227B to their fleet by the 1960's.
Following airline route deregulation in the late 1970s, the airline grew rapidly and began to a develop hub and spoke system with a hub at Charlotte Douglas International Airport in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Piedmont Triad International Airport (IATA: GSO, ICAO: KGSO) (commonly referred to as PTIA) is an airport just west of Greensboro, serving High Point and Winston-Salem in North Carolina.
Piedmont Airlines, which for years had served both GSO and Smith Reynolds Airport in nearby Winston-Salem, announced its intention to consolidate its operations at Greensboro Regional Airport.

Piedmont seems like a great company to start with, and as you can see by my time they are not looking for just high flight time pilots (I was the low time in my class though).
Piedmont is a small, family type airline, if you are worried about US Air going under, don't work here becuase your attitude will make you and your coworkers miserable.
