Pierre Wynants werd op 5 maart 1939 geboren.
Wynants bleef evenwel studeren: in 1970 krijgt hij een diploma van de Académie Culinaire de France en het daaropvolgende jaar wordt hij Maître Sommelier.
Pierre Wynants' gerechten zijn licht en fantasierijk, zonder de gulden basisregels van de oude meesters uit het oog te verliezen.

Pierre Wynants was born on 5 March 1939.
Wynants, who is internationally respected as a chef, took over the Art nouveau style business from his father and ran "Comme Chez Soi" as a second restaurant outside France with three coveted Michelin stars.
Wynants was also made a knight in the Ordre du Mérite Agricole Français, and in 1984 was voted Chef of the year, and won the Grand Prix de l'Art de la Cuisine.

The Belgian press caused a stir on Wednesday by revealing that the Ostend Queen, a restaurant in the coastal town of Ostend, had been awarded two "forks" and a "gourmet's bib" by the Michelin guide, despite not having opened.
The guide made the award on the recommendation of top Belgian chef Pierre Wynants, who owns Brussels' three-star Comme Chez Soi, a favorite with diplomats and politicians.
A new edition of the guide should be available in about two months, a Michelin spokeswoman added.

Nobody seems to have told the builders however so there now are red faces all around when it became obvious that the Michelin inspectors could never have eaten there.
