Our guests had brought us back a bottle of Calvados from their recent trip to France, which our now-massive database of great food and beverage pairings indicated was the perfect match for Camembert cheese.
We can see why: while the Calvados was pretty strong on its own, the strength of the perfectly ripe Camembert (from Murray's Cheese) matched it, yet took things a step further by coating the palate so that the crisp apple flavor of the Calvados was even more evident.
