Piha is a coastal town in northern New Zealand.
Piha is probably New Zealand's second best-known surfing beach after Raglan, and it has a reputation for awesome surf.
United North Piha Lifeguard Service is responsible for the section of the beach north of Lion Rock and Piha Surf Life Saving Club patrols the section of the beach to the south of Lion Rock.

Past work undertaken on Piha includes the building of carparks on the sand dunes, dune planting to modify the sand, channeling the Moana Stream and substantially modifying the course of the Marawhara Stream.
Given that Waitakere City Council believes Piha should remain open and accessible, it asked NIWA to undertake a review of the coastal processes in the area and provide recommendations for the future management of the beach.
Using Monkey Rock on North Piha Beach as a benchmark, analysis of the photographs shows that the dunes have moved seawards by some 70 to 100 metres on this part of the beach over the past century.

Piha Library are for the week preceeding Anzac Day having a Tribute to the memory of the members of the forces who died during the wars.
The Piha Community Library invite any member of the community who had a family member who was an Anzac that died at war to put up a photo on a memorial wall in the library.

It has 1100 subscribers off the Piha Exchange, fed via a 8 meg/sec radio link coming from the Mt Albert exchange, via a mast at Anawhata.
The cable will largely follow the existing power cables, which are on traditional poles for a distance of 3.5 km along the top of the Piha Road.
