The historical Volos - Milies railway, the small train of Pilio, as is mostly known, was constructed in two stages from 1894 through 1903.
The legendary "Mountzouris" (Smudgy) connected the commercial-industrial center of Volos to the fertile and rich area of West Mount Pilio, on the slope and the olive groves of the mountain of Centaurs.
One can find the traditional rolling stock, steam-powered trains of 1903 and 1912, wooden wagons with balconies, and two new diesel locomotives acquired by OSE in 2000.
