Whether or not you consider PILLOW TALK witty and divertingly subversive or annoying and unfunny is made a more difficult decision by the virtuosity of their playing and the pleasure to be derived from their diverse song-writing.
Pillow Talk may harbour some deeply hidden Stan Boardman fascination, but at the same time their freestyle approach is a breath of fresh air in what is set to become another summer of pomposity thanks to the unlistenable dross messrs Yorke and Albarn are about to unleash on our already overstrained eardrums.
Headliners are Pillow Talk, one of the most successful bands to recently originate from BoB fame, selling their 300th Purely Platonic CD at this gig.

Through potentially unintentional complacency, Custom Made has taken a slight step back with their new record, "Pillow Talk." Their previous, "LA State of Mind," was a concise and finely crafted album that didn't try to do too much, but never took a wrong step.
The fact remains, however, that the lack of growth exhibited on "Pillow Talk" is disappointing considering the potential that the crew showed on "LA State of Mind." Much of the material seems to have been recorded before the previous record was released, which begs the question of why they would release this stuff at all.
The cover reads "Pillow Talk" featuring Custom Made, and below that says "the most slept on." This is quite possibly true, because their debut was a great album that got almost no publicity.

The title (the use of it in the song) is a clever twist on the term pillow talk.
While pillow talk would usually refer to sweet nothings whispered during sex, in this case Attaway is using it to refer to rumors.

Besides being a lady who has added brightness, zing and class to every movie she's ever been associated with, the girl born Doris Von Kappelhoff in Cincinnati back in 1924 is also one of those terrific talents who has never received anywhere near the back-patting she deserves.
