  Archive 64: Pilotwings 64 - Nintendo 64 (N64) Review
That same basic gameplay premise is still the backbone of Pilotwings 64, but it has been updated and refined in the sequel.
Pilotwings 64 is probably too difficult for the average gamer as well.
Pilotwings 64 will still go down as one of the classic N64 titles, but that's only because it was one of the first two games for the system and because the environment provoked immersion.

Pilotwings - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Pilotwings is a Nintendo video game for the Super Famicom and Super Nintendo Entertainment System, originally released in 1990, and included with the system in some early packages.
Besides the use of this technique, Pilotwings is particularly notable for its futuristic rock score by Soyo Oka of Ice Hockey and Super Mario Kart fame, and Koji Kondo of Legend of Zelda and Super Mario Bros. fame, with Sting-like reggae and experimental whole-tone scale influences.
The score experienced some revival of attention in the international music community when Sir Paul McCartney expressed his admiration for Kondo in an interview, and when studies of several movements were published by Internet commentators and musicians Matthew Dean and Michael Rich.

Pilotwings 64 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Pilotwings 64 is a video game for the Nintendo 64, released in 1996, along with the launch of the console.
In Pilotwings 64, as with its predecessor, the player must complete a variety of missions using different airborne vehicles.
Examples include destroying various ground targets within a limited time using a missile-equipped gyrocopter, navigating through large floating rings placed throughout a city using a rocket belt, taking a picture of a smokestack while riding a hang glider, and firing a chosen character out of a large cannon towards a target several hundred yards away.

Sure, not everything companies do on the Revolution will be great (honestly, I’ve tried playing an FPS on it and I don’t find it an improvement over today’s controllers), but there will be some games that really show the universal appeal of the console.
So the Pilotwings announcement is GREAT and the other comment is just plain retarded.

Pilotwings 64 was pretty good too, but not nearly as innovative as I thought pilotwings on the snes was.
Though, Pilotwings would be an excellent title for the DS and stylus input (and blowing on the mic), or the Revolution, were its controllers to have some sort of gyroscopic feature.
Pilotwings 64 is one of the few must have games for the N64 in my book.

Too bad Nintendo totally killed the Pilotwings brand about the time the GCN was launched.
Pilotwings is still as great as ever, and if the next game, THAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN MADE AGES AGO, NINTENDO, is even half as good as the Nintendo 64 version, it'll be brilliant.

The latest issue of EGM reports on murmurs of a Pilotwings sequel in the works for the Nintendo Revolution.
My first thoughts went to Pilotwings since as I loved the SNES version so I'm glad to hear that they are going to do this game.
Either way, I think the best way to make use of it for Pilotwings would be to have it act as a flightstick and have the attachment control the throttle.

Speaking to IGN, Eguchi explained that the plane demo on display in LA was made by his Wii Sports team with the intention of including it alongside the already announced Tennis, Baseball and Golf - although its appearance in the Wii Sports package has yet to be finalised.
Given that initial plan, it doesn't look good at all for fans clamouring for Pilotwings Wii - especially as Eguchi revealed, "I think the possibility that it will become part of the Wii Sports series is greater than the possibility of it becoming a new Pilotwings."
On the plus side, Eguchi reiterated that one of our all time favourite franchises - Animal Crossing - will definitely be making its way to Wii, although development is still in the very early planning stages.
