Pin chuck - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A pin chuck is a small work holding device.
It is often used to hold small drills (<1mm) that would not be held securely in a normal (1mm–13mm) drill chuck.
The drill is inserted into the pin chuck and tightened, the pin chuck is then inserted into the larger drill chuck so that the operation can continue.

The intramedullary pin should be about 60-70% of the medullary canal, that is large enough to achieve axial stability of the fracture, but not so large as to hinder reduction of the fracture or placement of the external fixation pins.
Select an intramedullary pin which is 50 to 60% of the medullary canal (to allow fixation pin placement for the external fixator).
The pin tip should be through the medial cortex so the round portion of the pin is in contact with the entire thickness of the cortex.

Use of fixation pins placed parallel to the joint surfaces aids in achieving correct fracture alignment when stabilizing severely comminuted fractures where anatomic reconstruction of the cortex is difficult.
The pin should exit the medial side of the tibia and extend until there are threads visible on both sides of the bone.
Continue to drive the pin through the proximal segment of the tibia, exiting on the medial side and seating the pin through the second clamp on the medial connecting bar.

These pins are contraindicated in very young animals (under 4 to 6 months of age) in whom the marrow cavity is large and the cortex is soft and may be easily penetrated by the Rush pin instead of allowing the pin to glide over its inner surface.
Transfixation pinning may be accomplished in the same manner described previously, with the exception that pins are placed perpendicular to the long axis of the bone and are seen parallel to one another in the anterior- posterior plane.
Pin tract sequestra have been reported to be a result of faulty technique, that is, thermal necrosis produced by drilling the pin through the bone, although this etiology has not been proven.

Chuck, being the sly fella that he is, wrote a casual Christmas card to Angela to see how she was.
Chuck slowly got concerned that Angela never gave him a reason not to keep asking her out yet she never gave Chuck the impression that she wanted him to ever kiss her goodnight.
Chuck made the move and gave her a subtle kiss on the forehead followed by a gentle kiss on her nice full lips (a quick glance at the above picture will show the before mentioned lips).
