Intimidation Game - the latest film in the Batman franchise - and rights to revenues from hiring the the company's largest stage (called 007 in honour of the 18 Bond movies filmed at the studios) have also contributed to the rise in operating profits.
The results are the first since the group, which owns Shepperton studios in Staines and Pinewood studios in Slough, floated on the stock exchange in May.
Pinewood Shepperton was formed after a management team led by chairman Michael Grade bought Pinewood studios from the Rank Group in 2000 and then purchased rival Shepperton studios in February 2001.

LONDON: Well known film studios Pinewood Shepperton, the home for legendary Harry Potter, Batman and James Bond movies, lost 20 per cent of its value in a day after it gave a second profit warning in three months and its shares took a dip in the market Monday.
Pinewood Shepperton's chief executive, Ivan Dunleavy, said a three-month industry consultation that had been due to start in June is not likely to begin before the end of July.
He said most of the film companies are holding off from converting provisional bookings because of the uncertainty.

This means that when a film wraps, the producers must remove any sets from the grounds, so Pinewood does not have a standing backlot like you will find at Universal, etc. Pinewood is not open to the public and tours are not available.
As the name implies it was built for the James Bond film series, and over the years has housed many of the impressive sets such as the submarine docks from "The Spy Who Loved Me".

FILM studios Pinewood Shepperton confirmed last night it was braced for the loss of a major contract because of the cost of movie-making in the UK.
Lloyd Levin, the film's producer, gave an interview to movie website ScreenDaily.com where he said the issue was "the expense of shooting in the UK with the exchange rate and the loss of certain rebates".
Pinewood - headed by BBC chairman Sir Michael Grade - warned last month that movie-makers had been reluctant to get their cameras rolling until it was known whether the Government would continue to offer tax relief for larger films.
