Topic: Pinhead (Hellraiser)

Serial killers and notorious murders in the Serial Killer Calendar
Pinhead kills not indiscriminately, nor for vengeance; he kills because he was conjured from Hell by the opener of the puzzle box.
In both: Hellraiser and Hellraiser: Hellseeker, the character Kirsty bargains with Pinhead to offer him more "souls" in exchange for her own (in particular, her human adversaries), thus ending with him sparing her life.
In the original Hellraiser, Pinhead was simply named "Lead Cenobite" and was part of a collective group whose purpose was to give pleasure and pain to those who opened the Box.

 Hellraiser
"Hellraiser" was one of the films that stopped the descent, at least for a while.
Too bad the rest of the decade kinda sucked for the genre, except for the 1988 release of "Hellraiser II," which was as equally impressive as that of its predecessor.
Pinhead had been transformed from the methodical "Lord of the Dark Realm" to a one-lining "Freddy-like" incarnation.

 OAFE - Hellraiser: Pinhead review
Some collectors have removed the pins and replaced them with real metal ones, but I'm happy with Pinhead just the way he is. His belly button is pierced to hold a belt of three bloodied tools, and his hands are sculpted to hold both of his accessories and are nicely (freshly) bloodied.
Pinhead's paint apps are quite good - his leather is flened and drybrushed to nice effect, and his flesh is a very pale and dead-looking blue, however his torn and bloody chest is a little unrealistic.
It's pleasing that Pinhead fits right in with the Movie Maniac series, or as part of his own collection of Cenobites, and he'll certainly please fans of the series as well as horror collectors.

The popular "Hellraiser" story, which is derived from Clive Barker's novel "The Hellbound Heart," spans three generations of the Lemarchand/Marchand family who is best known for bringing hell onto earth through the Lament Configuration.
In "Hellraiser: Bloodline," Paul Marchand is left to rescue the world from the evil, and this last installment will serve to join the beginning, middle and end of the Hellraiser story from the first appearance of the Lament Configuration to the last.

 Hellraiser movie FAQ - allanswers.org
When Joey Summerskill, a young and ambitious television reporter, witnesses the bizarre death of a teenage boy torn apart by chains in a hospital emergency room, she discovers from the boy's trendy girlfriend, Terri, that the chains emerged from a small puzzle box which the boy stole from the pillar displayed in JP's club.
Finally freed from the pillar by JP's hedonistic greed, Pinhead walks the earth again in an orgy of blood and desire, creating an army of new Cenobites from the transmutated flesh of his victims to reclaim the box and set him free from the powers of Hell forever.
Joey, whose dreams are tortured by recurring visions of her dead father, and Terri, who would give anything to dream at all, are all that stand in Pinhead's way; and before the battle between good and evil reaches a final, incredible confrontation, dreams become reality as they receive help from a very unexpected source.

Pinhead tricks her into handing over the box by disguising himself as the ghost of Joey's father, who died in Vietnam, and then prepares to turn her into a Cenobite herself.

 Clive Barker's - Hellraiser
The character of Pinhead presented somewhat of a departure from the horror movie villains which preceded him.
Another difference between Pinhead and other film killers, supernatural and otherwise, is his need to have been purposely summoned, as the Lament Configuration must be opened for the Cenobites to enter the world.
The act of opening the Lament Configuration is not in and of itself reason to be killed: in Hellbound: Hellraiser II, Pinhead stops the Cenobites from killing Tiffany, a mentally ill girl who opened the box only after being manipulated by the evil Dr. Channard.
