Spider - Biocrawler   (Site not responding. Last check: )
Spiders, unlike insects, have only two body segments instead of three; a fused head and thorax (called a cephalothorax or prosoma) and an abdomen (called the opisthosoma), supported by a hard exoskeleton composed of mainly of chitin.
Spiders often use elaborate mating rituals (especially in the visually advanced jumping spiders) to allow the male to approach close enough to inseminate the female without triggering a predatory response.
While venom from either spider can be deadly to children and the infirm, since the development of antidotes to the venoms of both were developed (the funnel web spider in the mid-1980's and the wandering spider in 1996), no humans have died from their bites.

Talk:Spider - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Spiders that wander around the home looking for mates are the next group that should be identified and discussed, since a couple of N. American problem biters belong to this group, not to mention some species in S. America.
I think the sections 5 and 6 on spider bites should be relegated to their own article, and all the gratuitous references to a particular spider's "dangerous" and "very dangerous" and "not dangerous", being almost completely arbitrary and subjective, be deleted or moved to the "spider bites" article.
The spider looks like P. octopunctatis to me. I've seen my P. octopunctatis open and close her chelicerae as though she is thinking about biting something; on the other hand she is afraid of crickets her size and does not attempt to bite them when they blunder into her.

Identifying and Misidentifying the Brown Recluse Spider
Despite this and the lack of bodily pigmentary pattern, the woodlouse spider is commonly misidentified as a brown recluse.
The marbled cellar spider, Holocnemus pluchei, is repeatedly confused by the public as a brown recluse despite the fact that the brown markings are on the ventral surface of the body.
Although bites from the brown recluse and other recluse spiders can be a source of significant morbidity, diagnoses implicating these spiders as the culprits should be restricted to those regions of the country that support populations of the spiders.

Classifying spiders by their ecological characters might be useful for an ecologist studying feeding guilds, but can you see it does contain any information about the history of the spider taxa that construct specific web types.
How about determining the hunting effectiveness of web building spiders that have more than one spider in them, such as the communal web dwellers, the spiders that keep their young in their webs with them for a period of time and the pirate spider?.
