Displacement is, as someone said before, jumping off the piste, or perhaps tearing off your lame.
As far as I know/knew, displacement of the target - as far as moving it away is concerned, not covering - only included deliberately stepping off the piste to avoid being hit...
It says that there is no call for an off-target hit (mostly because there are no lights to register it), but covering is just as illegal as in foil.

Fencing - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Though antagonistic competition in fencing is as old as the art itself, the modern sport of fencing originated in the first Olympic games in 1896.
Opponents start in the middle of the piste, 4 metres apart, in the en garde position.
It is also possible to fence "in the round," meaning that the bout takes place in a circular or square area instead of on a strip, and fencers can circle in addition to moving forward or backward.

 Fencing Book Reviews
I'd recommend the chapter on "fencing on the piste" to anyone preparing for their first competition, given that we don't use the full set-up and formalities at training.
It was written by Aldo Nadi, whose fencing career reached it's height in the 1920's before he moved to the US to coach, On Fencing was first published in 1943.
I used to wonder why Fencing had such a reputation of arrogance and elitism, given how removed it now is from its roots in noblemen's duels.

“I feel very privileged to have grown up in the fencing world with those who coach and run the (Excalibur) club,” said MacKay, 29, who made her Olympic debut four years ago in Sydney (she finished 17th in women's epee).

I tried to learn and pick up from the way they fence as in attacking on enemy's preparation, setting up a "stage" before attacking.

Epee is the modern version of the dueling sword; it is similar to a foil, but it has a stiffer blade, has a larger bell guard, and is heavier (about 1.75 lb, or.79 kg).
For epee, there is an open circuit set up by the system, which is closed when a touch is landed.

She was the third woman called onto the piste and, as she took her place in the line, she practically stood on Tan, forcing her to move away in the direction of Jacobson at the end of the line.
Fencing is one of the few sports that has survived from the first modern Olympics, in Athens in 1896.
A few minutes before Zagunis won the gold, Sada Jacobson beat Catalina Gheorghitoia of Romania, 15-7, to take the bronze and become the first American woman to win an Olympic fencing medal, and the first American fencing medalist since Peter Westbrook won a bronze in saber at the boycott-weakened Los Angeles Olympics in 1984.

The foil's A wire is connected with the target lamè, the B wire is the "hot wire," and the C wire is the return current; the piste and the bell guard are electrically grounded.
For foil, there is a closed electric circuit set up by the system, which is opened when a touch is landed (the button on the foil is depressed); when a touch occurs, a buzzer goes off and a light lights up on the side of the fencer who was touched.
The target area for a foil is the torso (the area covered by the jacket), not including the head or arms.

Now carefully pull the wire straight, and attach it to the tang (that’s the part of the blades with the threads on it.) You can attach your wire to the tang with tape or with some kind of clip i.e.

An "attack" is defined inconsistently by modern fencing directors: most use a newer definition which sees one fencer extending his or her arm as an attack, but a few still adhere to the classical principle that an attack is not established until the arm is fully extended.
Fencers connect their weapons to the scoring apparatus via a bodywire, which is threaded from a socket in the guard of the weapon, up the sleeve of the jacket and down to the waist.
