The Sydney Morning Herald Blogs: The Contrarian / Pittwater: a win for WASPs and NIMBYs Archives
Pittwater may not be the most multicultural electorate in NSW but it is disgusting to suggest that this fact is in any way correlated with a racist attitude in the area.
Attacking the whole of the Pittwater population as "insular and conservative" not to mention the suggestion of racist is simplistic to the point of being childish name-calling and hardly a constructive comment on the issue at hand.
It's easy to brand the Pittwater electorate as insular and lacking in a true liberal outlook but it's perhaps a little harder to put aside the arrogance and digest the fact that the electorate is not happy with the state party's handling of issues at both local and state level.

 pittwater - One Water
Living around pittwater, changes have occurred that provide a creaping improvement, but on the other hand the 'pittwater attitude' which is often characterised as 'aloof greenie' has proven to be somewhat regressive in impeding good development, additional lifestyle facilities and in sharing and promoting the aspects of pittwater.
The 'pittwater attitude' is shortsighted perhaps based on mediocre leadership and representation and self-serving traditional perspectives of the incumbants challenged by bureacratic impositions with a distinct blue collar style.
There is enough scope in pittwater to accomodate the croniasm demanding retention of ageing traditional values but also there is plenty of opportunity to install contemporary modernism, the best of resources and infrastructure and draw substantial effect in support of the economic expansionism that is currently only piecemeal and fragmented.
