Bionicle - The Wordbook Encyclopedia   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-05)
"Bionicle" is a portmanteau constructed from the English words "biological" and "chronicle" (not "biomechanical" as is the common belief).
Bionicle was also the first in the company's history intended to last for over two or three years - in fact, one of the original plans involved seven major multi-year story arcs (Lego has since decided not to limit themselves to seven; should the Bionicle franchise last that long).
The Bionicle storyline is told mainly in the book series and comics, which are written primarily by Greg Farshtey.

Bionicle is a line of Toys made by the Lego Group that is marketed towards those in the 8-12 range.
The original legend of the Bionicle was actually a simple fable, invented by the Turaga (elders of the Bionicle Universe) to make sure the matoran didn't find out about their past - which was explained in 2004-2005.
So they placed the Krana on the carvings and six huge doors opened, inside of which was an exo-toa suit (special robotic suits with a claw arm and a "rocket launcher".) So, in these Exo-Toa, they took on the Bohrok queens, the Bahrag.

 Bionicle Heroes - PS2- TotalPlayStation.com
Bionicle Heroes should have been a game that captured the slightly more "mature" angle of one of LEGO's biggest lines of toys in years.
Still, there are some minor framerate problems in place, and the overall polish of the game just seems off for something that is hitting on six year old hardware.
Your Bionicle forms take up too much of the screen, and the whole over-the-shoulder view, right down to the laser sight, just reeks of trying too hard to be like RE4.

Rahi is the name given to the different and unique species of animals that live on the island of Mata-Nui, in the city of Metru Nui, or in the surrounding environs in the world of Bionicle, a subset of Lego.
Most Rahi live in the wild, however some Rahi have been "tamed" by the local inhabitants (called Matoran) and are used to help the Matoran in everyday life.

BIONICLE is a line of toys created by Alastair Swinnerton and Bob Thompson for the Lego Group that is marketed towards those in the 7–16-year-old range (though there are some AFOLs into it).
The Bionicle idea originated from the earlier toy lines Slizers (also known as Throwbots in the U.S.A.) and Roboriders.
The prefixes are mostly used to identify kinds of Matoran and where they live (such as fire villagers being referred to as Ta-Matoran or the ice region being called Ko-Wahi), though the Toa Nuva and several kinds of enemies include the prefixes or variations of them in their names (like Gahlok">Gahlok, Lerahk">Lerahk, or porak">Roporak).

OAFE - Bionicle: Bohrok Va reviews
After the first sets of Bionicle (with the Toa and the Rahi), a second series introduced the Bohrok - the ingenius and popular enemy figures to swarm the heroes, each one of the six colors of the Toa, armed with a dual set of "claw"-like weapons at the end of each arms.
This comes down purely to the excellent design of the Bohrok Va, which seems parrellel to the genius that allows the Evangelion series by Kaidoyo to move in ways previously unheard of by action figures.

Once he's in one evil piece, he's just as big as the Dark Lord Sauron and his enormous double-bladed scythe is more than a match for that poncy little mallet the Dark Lord plays with.

His legs and midsection also have places for Bionicle slugs, three in fact, which can open to have them fire out at his enemies, just like the Rahkshi.
