Planet of Evil tends to be the most overlooked story of the Gothic-horror-styled, second Tom Baker season, and this is most unfair.
Planet of Evil is an interesting foray into the depths of the universe, bringing the Doctor into a situation that would not appear out of place in an episode of Star Trek but that should not be held against the story.
Planet Of Evil is frequently underrated and overlooked because of the stories on either side of it; but despite this it is a shockingly effective tale.

For those who don't already know, the graphics in the Resident Evil series have always consisted of 3D characters on static backgrounds (with the exception of Code Veronica, but we'll ignore that for now).
When I first looked at the new shots of Resident Evil 1 on GameCube, I assumed that the shots were entirely real-time since the latest game in the series, Code Veronica, was done in real time.

 Outpost Gallifrey: Reviews
Positive: the idea of a planet that is something of a lynchpin between universes, containing elements of both, that are not to be disturbed, is a good one.
Sorensen sets the scene with his terse assertion that the planet is alive, and the deaths of the two Morestrans are dramatic and disturbing, as they vanish screaming in agony, only to reappear as quite convincing shriveled corpses.
In addition to these minor flaws, there are two aspects of 'Planet of Evil' that I originally considered to be weaknesses, but as the story progressed I found that, bizarrely, they actually added to the story.

Evil genius in the garden of eden-dr vic shaye.
Corporations are evil when they are so selfish and shortsighted that our relatives suffer with cancer and other diseases that are directly linked to industrial waste, artificial ingredients pumped into foods, radioactive waste leaking into the groundwater and land, pesticide use and production, and weapons manufacturing.
They are also evil when they merely hide their destructive practices by moving their manufacturing and dumping on other countries, destroying the oxygen-producing rainforests, and spilling millions of tons of crude oil into the sea all around the world.
The second theme is that of Evil the entity that forges the long, painful process of destruction, disrepair, loss of innocence and disrespect for the sanctity of the Garden and all its inhabitants.

Planet-Tolkien: Evil in Middle Earth 101
The discussion here (http://www.planet-tolkien.com/board/cat/3/thread/3141/0#bottom) is producing some interesting thoughts on the nature of evil, but i thought it might be interesting to ask the question "what/who is the source of evil in middle earth" in this one, as i don't fully understand some of the references in the "dark queen" galadriel thread.
As for evil in Middle-earth, that was part of Melkor's essence dissipating from Utumno, turning beasts into monsters, making plants rot, etc. It mingled with the essence of Arda itself, entered the hearts of the Children of Ilúvatar and could not be undone, safe by breaking Arda itself.
I understood Tolkien to be saying that Melkor brooded on his evil ideas by spending time in the Void, away from Eru and the other Ainur.
