Platform said it is working closely with the Globus Project to perform quality assurance, improve documentation, and achieve interoperability and seamless integration with commercial workload management and Grid computing applications.
Platform CTO Songnian Zhou and chief business architect Ian Baird told the Grid forum that the company views the Globus Toolkit as one of the core elements of Grid technology, the others being Platform LSF MultiCluster and Analyzer and Avaki's DataGrid technology, which Platform has licensed.
Platform hopes to improve Globus' documentation and increase its adoption, Baird said, furthering its acceptance beyond academic and research circles as a "catalyst for cooperation." Platform is a leader in the Grid space, with more than 1,500 clients, including 75% of Fortune 2000 companies, Baird said.
