A Platinum Record is the award given to a performing artist (typically musical artist) for the sale of million units of records, CD¹s, or cassettes through legal distribution sources.
The Platinum Record award was created after the Gold Record award was popular and as the industry saw the sales of individual singles and albums reach one million units.
In 1998 the Diamond Record awards were created for the sales of 10 million copies of an album or single.

After playing the record for a little bit we realized that there were only two tracks and that the songs were not in fact the ones on the compilation.
Not all parts of the record were playable as per there was adhesive on it from the matting job, but enough was playable to figure out what it contained sonically.

Aquarius Platinum has posted a record full year production of platinum from its South African operations, boosted by a stand out June quarter performance at its flagship Kroondal mine.
