		Please Please Me is another good song and it is their first #1 hit in England.
		The debut album, 'Please Please Me', was released, went to #1 in the album chart and stayed there for 29 weeks until it was replaced by 'With The Beatles', the boys' second British album.
		First and foremost, it was the first album produced by a young pop band where the artists wrote the majority of the songs- 8 of the 14 were originals.

		Please was rereleased in 2001 (as were most of the group's albums up to thatpoint) as Please/Further Listening 1984-1986.
		The rereleased version was not only digitally remastered but came with asecond disc of B-sides and previously unreleased material from around the time of thealbum's original release.

		The album cover's design, with its tiny photo of Chris and Neil and even smaller typeface, arose from designer Mark Farrow's observation that the smaller he made the image and type, the more eye-catching they became—which is exactly the opposite one would expect.
		The first track on the first album by the Pet Shop Boys was partly inspired by a "talking calculator" that Neil had bought for his father for Christmas; the song was built around the "voice" of the calculator.
		In general, this appears to be an unusually direct song amidst so many others that can't be taken purely at face value, such as "Opportunities" and "Tonight Is Forever." It seems to be an honest plea by the narrator to his paramour that they indeed start living together.

		Our study of the songs of the Beatles would not be complete without a modicum of attention paid to "the covers"; at least a brief comparison of the Beatles' versions to the originals, as well as a consideration of the cover repertoire in its relationship to the emerging Lennon/McCartney compositional style.
		It is most common to rationalize the specific cover song choices on the "Please Please Me" album as having been selected on the basis of their nicely showcasing the talents of the group and providing a way for them to pay homage to the music which they themselves enjoyed and which most directly influenced them.
		Again, the Shirelles play it in the higher key of B-flat (the same relative transposition as in "Boys") and their vocals are more breathy and soulful, though perhaps, compared to John, less "intense." The original features an organ instead of a piano for the instrumental solo.
