		The Plinius 8200 had the right pedigree, and was fairly reasonable at $3000, so I went for it.
		The amp (like everything else these days) has a blue LED power indicator that flashes briefly when the amp is turned on, and another indicating whether or not the amp is muted.
		The Plinius preamp doesn't seem to add anything, but sounds far superior to its cousin, the 8200.

		Pliny the Elder or Gaius Plinius Secundus (23-79): Roman officer and encyclopedist, author of the Natural history.
		Gaius Plinius Secundus -or, to use his English name, Pliny- was born in 23 or 24 at Novum Comum (modern Como), a small city in the region known as Gallia Transpadana.
