		It was understood that folks needed to check their zero - get loosened up - etc. In practice, what we had was this: Every time we'd turn around, someone would want to know if they could shoot the targets which were set up for the tournaments.

	24 Hour Campfire: favorite 45-70 plinking load?
		I'm looking for the mildest safe load that would still be accurate out to 50 yards or so.
		I use 300 grain cast bullets for plinking in the 45-70.
		I use Univeral Clays (very close to Unique) and my load is 11 grains of Universal Clays using a Magnum primer.

		The gun is very accurate and consistent and when fired gives the impression that there is a lot of recoil but it hits the plinking targets consistently.

		Info for those who are not into guns
		Plinking is simalar to target practice but with targets that do stuff like cans fly when you hit them, thick solid metal plates go ding, plastic bottles and jugs and metal cans filled with water may explode, etc. I think of plinking as fun shooting.
		Shooting metal plates may cause a ricochet, with either the entire bullet bouncing off or parts of the bullet or place breaking and flying back at the shooter.
