		Plinths may be constructed in a variety of ways, based on using either standard bricks laid at an angle to produce a slope
		Although concrete plinths have been clad using slip bricks, it is preferable to use full bricks as these are less vulnerable to differential movement and dislodgement and the integrity of the finished detail is less sensitive to standards of workmanship.
		The traditional usage for plinth special bricks was to achieve a reduction in the thickness of walling typically where a wall was one-brick thick at low levels and a half-brick thick structure was sufficient to accommodate the less onerous imposed loads at higher levels.

		Plinth return to the live stage on Tuesday April 19th at Junktion 7 in the Nottingham Uni Bandsoc Battle Of The Bands.

		I settled on a design using an 2 inch thick acrylic plinth that was just big enough to accomodate the turntable---the minimalist size would minimize the ambient vibrations the plinth would pick up, and the compact body would also make it less aesthetically obtrusive.
		The choice of acrylic for the plinth was motivated by the fact that a medium density material like acrylic would provide the mass I was looking for as well as have sufficient internal damping to dissipate some vibrational energy.
