  Heroes of Horror Excerpt
Heroes of Horror provides everything players and Dungeon Masters need to play and run a horror-oriented campaign or integrate elements of creepiness and tension into their existing campaigns.
Heroes and Antiheroes (Chapter 5): This chapter presents two new standard classes, the archivist and the dread necromancer, as well as half a dozen new prestige classes, from the fiend-blooded, who embraces the evil inherent in her ancestry, to the purifier of the Hallowed Doctrine, who strives to stop the spread of taint.
This chapter also details more than thirty new feats, some of them powered by taint and others useful in fighting tainted creatures, and a like number of new spells, including corrupt spells that inflict ability damage upon their caster and oneiromancy spells, which allow the caster to manipulate the dreams of others.

Plot immunity - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Plot immunity is a phenomenon in fiction (particularly serialized fiction, such as television series and comic books) that allows for major characters – usually the protagonist and/or antagonist – to avoid the consequences of events that would remove them from the plot.
The result is the hero being locked in a deathtrap while the audience yawns or laughs.
Another is to kill a supporting character, particularly one which the audience has likely grown fond of (for example, the sidekick or love interest, or the hero's pet dog); the sacrifice of redshirts do not convince the readers that the main characters are in actual danger of even emotional harm.

 Review - Heroes Chronicles : Volumes 1-4 // PC /// Eurogamer
Tarnum and the other heroes you recruit are moved around on a map, picking up the items which have been carelessly left scattered around on the ground, taking control of the mines, lumber yards and other resource points available, and fighting both neutral creatures and any enemy heroes.
As the title of the game suggests though, the focus is very much on the hero, as his offensive and defensive statistics and any relevant skills alter the stats of troops under his or her command, which in turn has a great effect on the outcome of a battle.
If you are an experienced Heroes player, the Chronicles are more of a light snack than a four course meal, and you may want to save your pennies in the hopes that a true sequel will be released next year.

 Stupid Plot Tricks
When the hero launches into an explanation that's way over her head, that will be her cue to pull the lever and send him into the pit of crocodiles.
They're either stupid (in which case their plot will fail and you'll get caught), or setting you up (in which case not turning them in is a very bad idea), or they've turned Good (in which case life under the new regime would be boring).
If the Hero says he is willing to betray his cause and accept my offer of ruling the world at my side, he will only be believed once that betrayal results in his cause's total destruction, at which point his demonstrable lack of principle will lead to his immediate execution.

EN World - Morrus' D&D / d20 News & Reviews Site - Plot immunity for PCs
Plot immunity does have its place; it means the characters are important, and not just one amongst a succession of characters to be paraded out when the previous one dies, and gets around the local temple being denigrated to a convenience store.
I use plot immunity perhaps half, or two-thirds of the time, and even then, try holding back just enough that they still hover on the brink of death (I may not try to kill them, but if I can sink someone into the low negatives, I'm doing all right by my perspective).
Plot immunity, to a degree, but not in such a way that the characters feel they cannot die.

As before, since the plot comes in two sections, with the central narrative and the framing/linking device, I'll discuss the plot in two parts for the sake of greater clarity, starting with a description of the events that make up the framing sequence.
THE PLOT (1) The plot of the framing device is as follows: The story starts at its ending in a one-page prologue that takes place at the end of 1987 in a bar someplace in New York.
THE PLOT (2) This is the main central plot of Twilight, being the story that Hunter tells Constantine and that Constantine passes on to the other parties involved, and it deals with the world of the Twilight.
