Datel - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Datel (previously Datel Electronics) produced a wide range of hardware and peripherals for home computers in the 1980s, for example replacement keyboards for the ZX Spectrum, the PlusD disk interface (originally designed and sold by Miles Gordon Technology) and the Action Replay cartridge.
Datel was and still is the brainchild of Mike Connors, who has been mentioned in the The Sunday Times (UK) as one of the country's top 100 richest people.
Miles Gordon technology sold their innovative PlusD drive to Datel to assist their ailing SAM Coupé project.

Format Publications - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Run by Bob Brenchley, it sprang from the ashes of INDUG, originally the Independent DISCiPLE User Group but later renamed to the Independent User Group to reflect a move towards a less specialist audience.
INDUG was set up as a user group for owners of the Miles Gordon Technology DISCiPLE and later PlusD floppy disk interfaces for the ZX Spectrum computer.
In its later years it expanded to cover MGT's SAM Coupé enhanced Spectrum-compatible microcomputer and later still to home microcomputing in general - especially 8-bit machines.

Sinclair ZX Spectrum Home Computer - Storage Solutions.
The PlusD Floppy Disk Interface for the Sinclair ZX Spectrum Computer, originally manufactured by MGT (Miles Gordon Technology) is probably one of the most widely used expansions for the ZX Spectrum and its drive format is widely implemented in Spectrum emulators.
We are happy to be able to offer these floppy disk interfaces (constructed in 2006 to a high standard) and have a limited supply of compatible external 3.5" DSDD Disk Drives to go with the interfaces.
Please note: the Plus-D Interface is suitable for the original 16K and 48K (rubber key) ZX Spectrum, the Spectrum + (48K and 128K) and the Spectrum +2.

DISCiPLE - Indopedia, the Indological knowledgebase   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-31)
The DISCiPLE was a considerable success but its sophistication meant that it was expensive and the plastic casing, located beneath the computer itself, was sometimes prone to overheating.
These factors led to the development of the PlusD.
For more information on the design, specification and use of the DISCiPLE, see the entry on MGT.
