  Pneuma Summary
In Aristotle's biology an innate pneuma is mentioned in connection with a number of functions of the organism and is even compared to the ether, the fifth element from which the heavenly bodies are composed.
In the case of sexual generation pneuma is used to explain the ability of the male seed to convey its movements to the female matter without contributing matter to the resulting embryo; in animal movement it helps explain the movement of the limbs.
His second successor, Strato of Lampsacus, seems to have considered pneuma to be the material substance of the soul, perhaps in recognition of the discoveries of Hellenistic medicine; a treatise on pneuma survives in the Aristotelian corpus.

They might have used pneuma in a general sense, but anemos was evidently a more precise and definite word for their purpose, and they properly used it.
Having impersonated the pneuma by predicating "bloweth" of it, it would be entirely proper to express its unrestrained and [527] mysterious motion as voluntary.
Here then we have a series of words predicated of pneuma every one of which agrees well with its sense of wind, and no one of them naturally agreeing with its sense of spirit--so that it would be next to impossible for Nicodemus to misunderstand the sense in which it was spoken.

Dredging by this method in deep waters, utilizes a considerable water counter pressure and a very high inlet velocity of the mixture inside the pump body which permits penetration of compacted bottom materials, although with a reduced percentage of solid.
The hole made in the bottom has a diameter according to the size of the Pneuma pump body (average considered: 4 mt approx) which helps the water penetration inside the walls of the holes.
After a certain period the material collapses, forming a very loose, bottom layer due to its high content of water and in this second phase it is possible to reach a very high solid content in the mixture.
