The Super Ace is constructed of basic materials, 4130 steel tubing for the fuselage, tail group, landing gear, fittings and wing struts.
The wings are spruce spars and the wing ribs of spruce cap strips.

Originally a British design that was completely stress and load tested, the Super 2 is a two-seat, shoulder-wing, all-aluminum touring airplane offered as plans or a kit by SkyCraft International of Homeworth, Ohio, which is led by one of the airplane’s original designers and production engineers.
Light Miniature Aircraft of Pelion, South Carolina, makes kits for two look-alike Super Cubs, an 85-percent scale J-3 Cub, a 7/8-scale Taylorcraft, a 75-percent scale Champ, and two full-scale Super Cubs, one made of bonded aluminum and Dacron and the other made of wood and Dacron.

 RC Groups - Corben Super Ace 3 View
Don't know if you recall, but there was a very nice kit of the Corben Super Ace produced some years ago by Pharis Models, PO Box 804, Folsom, CA, 95630.
The plane exists in a much changed form today as the Pober Super Ace, with a flat engine, and the wing sitting separate from the fuselage.
I have a copy of the plans as they were reprinted by the EAA in the 1950s, which I will scan for RC Guy.

Cvjetkovic's CA-61(Mini Ace) – Croatia’s gift to the American space program, Anton Cvjetkovik, designed this wood taildragger for Mechanix Illustrated (or at least they published an article on it, and, for a time, sold plans).
There was also a Druine Super Turbi and Condor, about which I've found....nothing.

Bede 4's and Thorp T-18s' were also present by the late 60s' and early 70s' and were the beginnings of the transition to the more modern breed of homebuilts as we now know them.
Today, 2001, we have all the modern kits as well as some scratch built models ranging from the Glasair III to the Kitfox and of course the Vans RV Airforce, all the way over the a Pober Super/Junior Ace.
It would be hard to come up with a list of homebuilts and other projects that have evolved from the fertile minds of our membership.

EAA and FAA recently worked together to revise and update the Amateur-built Advisory Circular to meet the current rules and policies and the FAA is expected to be releasing the new AC in the next few months.
For over the last year EAA and FAA have been working directly together to completely revamp the method amateur-built aircraft are certificated and the training both FAA inspectors and designees obtain prior to being authorized to inspect amateur-built aircraft.
These have ranged from descriptions of tail-dragging on handling paperwork, misinterpretation of regulations and AC?s, and outright refusal to do inspections by FAA officials.

In high school he taught himself to fly with a battered glider given to him by his history teacher and since then, he has logged more than 30,000 hours of flight time in 386 different types of aircraft from "homebuilts" to military jet fighters, transports, bombers and air refueling tankers.
He also designed 15 airplanes, including the Baby Ace, the Super Ace, Pobert Sport, Pober Pixie, Pober Jr.
His distinguished military career spanned almost 30 years, during which time he was a pilot, test pilot and combat veteran.
