Point Pleasant debuted in the spring of 2005 on the FOX network and despite a cult fan base and some strong critical reviews, the ratings for the show were less then stellar and the show ended it's run after only 8 of the originally produced 13 episodes had aired.
Colors are eye popping during the series many beach sequences and although the series does have a number of darker moments everything is always clearly seen with a great level of sharpness and detail afforded to the image.
The series opens on an image of calm ocean water which is a jaw droppingly gorgeous shot made even more impressive by the ability to pick out individual drops of water.

Point Pleasant didn't catch on with audiences, but in the land of TV on DVD nothing ever dies, so the only existing episodes of the series, including five that never aired, have already risen from the ashes and you can see for yourself what worked, what didn't, and what was downright scary.
Point Pleasant is entirely a 2005 phenomenon, having its entire run earlier this year and now coming out on DVD.
We're quickly going to reach the point where, especially if there are no extras to release, "complete series" sets will be out before you even know your favorite show has been canceled.

Serious DXers favor the eastern coast of North America for picking up AM stations broadcasting from Europe and Africa (although a location right on the Atlantic Ocean rather than Long Island Sound would be preferable).
After doing almost twenty posts in this series, my impulse is to assume that by now readers who are interested in shortwave and AM DXing are following this blog thread, and others are passing it by for less geeky content on the WFMU blog.
The BCL series is a recent invention, developed and built in China and first released in 2002 (the American version, the Grundig S350 went on sale in 2003).

If a monster's starting point is covered with an Emerald Framer or another monster and there are no warp holes in the level, its reapparance will fail and the monster will not return to the level.
If Lolo is on a monster's starting point and it reappears, Lolo will basically be "on top" of the monster and can usually walk off of it, though some monsters like Almas or Skulls will kill Lolo if he is standing on their starting points.

Where a show's pilot episode is supposed to hook you on the premise and the characters, Point Pleasant's debut episode had me yawning.
The only point I'll give the show is that its main villain, the devilish Lucus Boyd (Grant Show), is a vaguely interesting bad guy.
Point Pleasant comes in 1.78:1 anamorphic and it looks good; colors are nice and detail is sharp.
