Point Pleasant Park lies on a rocky 75-hectare (185 acre) promontory jutting into the Atlantic Ocean at the eastern end of the Halifax peninsula, in Nova Scotia, Canada.
Until 1866, Point Pleasant was primarily a military bastion, but in that year it was leased to a newly formed commission for a public park.

Point Pleasant rocks are predominantly slate with a high pyrite content.
From 1749 until the early 1900s, Point Pleasant was subjected to continuous biomass extraction and major disturbance of trees,and their roots and soil - for forts, firewood, kindling, furnaces, gates, fencing, and lumber; and removal and displacement of rocks for forts, roads, gates, walls, and trenches.

With a kiss-my-butt attitude, often in full view of park staff or cops, they arrogantly walk their dogs in off-limit areas and leave dog droppings for others to step in or clean up.
I hasten to mention that the vast majority of dog owners are very conscientious about their obligations to other park users; the bad ones create a problem for all.
My suggestion for Point Pleasant: From 6 am to noon and from 10 pm to midnight, the park would be open for dog owners to exercise their animals.
