Poker probability - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In poker, the probability of each type of 5 card hand can be computed by calculating the proportion of hands of that type among all possible hands.
Here, the probability is the frequency of the hand divided by the total number of 5 card hands, and the odds are defined by (1/p) − 1 : 1, where p is the probability.
To understand these derivations, the reader should be familiar with the basic properties of the binomial coefficients and their interpretation as the number of ways of choosing elements from a given set.

Poker - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Poker is a card game, the most popular of a class of games called vying games, in which players with fully or partially concealed cards make wagers into a central pot, which is awarded to the player or players with the best combination of cards or to the player who makes an uncalled bet.
Poker is played in a multitude of variations, but most follow the same basic pattern of play.
Poker’s popularity experienced an unprecedented spike in the first years of the 21st century, largely because of the introduction of online poker and the invention of the hole-card camera, which turned the game into a spectator sport.

The probability of the straight flush is subtracted from the total because it is already included in both the probability of a straight and the probability of a flush, so it has been added twice and must therefore be subtracted from the compound outs of a straight or flush.
