Paul Aurelian (also known, in French, as Pol de Léon and, in Latin, as Paulinus Aurelianus) is a 6th century Welsh saint, who became one of the seven founder saints of Brittany.
He was consecrated bishop there under the authority of Childebert, King of the Franks.
He was first buried at Saint-Pol-de-Léon, but his relics were later transferred to Fleury near Orleans, hence his last name, 'Aurelian'.

 Diocese of Quimper
Paul Aurelian, a Gallic monk, founder of monasteries at Ouessant on the north-west coast of Brittany and on the Island of Batz, was believed to have founded in an abandoned fort a monastery which gave origin to the town of St. Pol de Léon, afterwards the seat of a diocese.
He was the first titular of the see, a wonder-worker and prophet, and was held to have died in 575 at the age of 140 years, after having been assisted in his labours by three successive coadjutors.
The Cathedral of St. Pol de Léon was built between the thirteenth and sixteenth centuries.

From various accounts we can gather that Pol spent some time with his two brothers in a small monastery at Llanddeussant and then travelled to Cornwall, spending some time at the court of King Mark at Castle Dor near Fowey.
Pol de Leon and would have been of wooden construction.
