Polaris (as the bright star and navigational aid is formally called) now has two known stellar companions.
The first, Polaris B, has been known since 1780 and can easily be seen with even a smaller telescope; the second, Polaris Ab, had long eluded direct detection given its proximity to Polaris and its relative faintness.

I also would’ve accepted Dr. Polaris was just crazy without a flashback origin about his childhood problems but it was all in three panels so wasn’t a big problem.
I’d also recommend it as one of the few superhero comics DC is putting out that younger readers could enjoy.
All in all a great retro looking comic that will appeal to fans of old school superhero story telling and those younger readers looking to understand Byrnes legendary status.

It was originally believed to be a negative aspect of her own personality, awakened by the manipulations of the villain Psycho-Man.

The comic books were clumsily tied in bundles with twine.
I also had no sense of how old these comics really were, since these were cartoon characters I was watching on TV at the time.
In the back of many of these old comics were ads for all sorts of zany gimmicky items — X-Ray vision glasses, the infamous Atlas book, selling Grit Magazine, etc. One thing I remember really wanting was the Polaris Nuclear Sub.
