Polesworth sealed the three points and maintained their championship challenge when they added a third in the 80th minute as Rooke broke clear of the Luffs backline and calmly lobbed Springthorpe from 18yards to wrap the game up.

Re: Hartshorn. Polesworth Wawickshire   (Site not responding. Last check: )
HARTSHORNS IN POLESWORTH I understand we share an interest in the Hartshorn family of Polesworth.
I can find very few Hartshorn records pre 1746 in Polesworth except 3 children of George Hartshorn (John/Mary/William in 1729/1729/1731) and a marriage of George Hartson of Bentole Shropshire to Elizabeth Matts of Amington in 1725/6.
It seems too much of a co-incidence to have no Hartshorns in Polesworth (or indeed for miles around if the IGI is any indicator) and then have an unrelated George and Thomas turn up so I suspect either Thomas was a son of George or otherwise related (younger brother?).

Sir Henry Goodere (1534-1595), a patron of the poet Michael Drayton (1563-1631) and friend of Sir Philip Sidney (1554-1586), lived at Polesworth Hall, erected on the site of a Benedictine Abbey.
Wider literary patronage continued with the succession, from 1595 until 1627, of a second Sir Henry Goodere and this has led to commentators referring to a "Polesworth Circle".
Visitors to the Hall are thought to have included John Donne (1572-1631), the architect, Inigo Jones (1573-1652) and the dramatist, Ben Jonson (1572-1637) who collaborated with Inigo Jones in court masques.
