Mumbai Police Commissioner A.N. Roy told a news conference in India’s financial capital that the case had been solved, adding that the blasts had been carried out by a group of Pakistanis and Indians who used explosive RDX packed in pressure cookers.
The police commissioner said ISI was the ‘mastermind’ behind the July 11 attack and the blasts were carried out by the Lashkar-e-Toiba militant group which was aided by the Students Islamic Movement of India (SIMI).
AFP adds: The police commissioner said the attackers placed bombs in pressure cookers which were “kept in bags and then camouflaged by newspapers and umbrellas” in the trains.

Ansari's arrest follows the arrest of three men Thursday in what Mumbai police called a "big conspiracy," saying the Mumbai investigators have definitive proof that the three arrestees have connections to terrorist groups in Nepal, Bangladesh and Pakistan.
Mumbai Police Commissioner A.N. Roy said Monday that the three men arrested last week were not directly responsible for the attacks, and that authorities have not yet caught the men responsible for manufacturing and planting the bombs.
Police have detained hundreds for questioning in relation to the bombs, and have named three other suspects [JURIST reports] in addition to the four already arrested.

The police said Cheema's three executive planners in India were Faizal Sheikh, a resident of Mira Road near Mumbai, Kamaluddin Ansari, who was arrested from his home in Madhubani district of Bihar, and Ehtesham Siddiqui, Maharashtra secretary of SIMI and a resident of Mira Road.

August 31, 2004 (IDG News Service) Police officials investigating the alleged theft of source code at Jolly Technologies' Mumbai development center are questioning aspects of the security incursion reported by the company (see story).
On July 19, the employee in Mumbai uploaded and e-mailed files containing the source code and other confidential company data to her Yahoo e-mail account, according to Sandeep Jolly.
In another twist to the story, approximately an hour after Sandeep Jolly went to the Mumbai police, the employee accused of the theft filed a complaint with the police alleging that she had been harassed at work and mentioned advances such as invitations to dinner and the movies, according to Roy.

Mumbai, Sept 30: Mumbai police today held Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) responsible for the serial bomb blasts in suburban trains that killed nearly 200 people and wounded over 700 in one of the worst terror attacks in the country's economic capital on July 11 this year.
The Police Commissioner said the Mumbai train blasts were executed by three India-based terrorist modules of LeT but RDX used in the IEDs was brought from Pakistan by one Ehasanullah, adding they were not sure if the entire consignment of about 15 to 20 kgs of the deadly explosive had been expended by the terrorists.
The Police Commissioner said the 11 Pakistanis, who started infiltrating India from May 25, were sheltered at four hideouts in Mumbai arranged by Faizal Sheikh at Malad, Borivali (East), at Mumbra residence of Abdul Waheed and in his room at Bandra.
