Most of her movies shows her as someone who is prepared to die for her country, her man or her beliefs and very rarely changes her loyalty.
In this show, she as Salina Fong is prepared to work with the police when she finds out that her boss (also family friend) is prepared to kill her without trusting or checking her loyalty.

At-A-Glance Film Reviews: Police Story (1985)
Police Story, the first in a confusingly named series of Jackie Chan films (there were no less than three movies named Police Story 4, with or without some kind of subtitle), has a surprisingly solid story.
Normally, the fun of Jackie Chan movies is to marvel at his lightning-fast fight scenes and spectacular stunts, all of which he performs himself, and laugh at his unpretentious, self-effacing humor.
Police Story has both of these, but the spotlight is on the story.

Police Story would become a huge success and the prototype for Chan's films for nearly a decade afterwards.
Not only that, many of the movie's high-powered action sequences (most notably the "mall brawl" at the end) would be used or outright copied in many other films, both in the US and HK.
Besides a couple of slow bits in the middle (mostly dealing with the romantic subplots), the movie rarely slows down long enough for the viewer to catch their breath.

 [KFCC] Police Story Review
Police Story offers up Chan with his expected yet unusual outrageous stunts mixed with his brand of physical humor (the bouncing and juggling of the telephones while answering them is comedic brilliance).
However, the one "element" that always disappoints me with the Police Story films is how they under use Maggie Cheung: One of my favorite actresses and her character May only seems to grace the screen for a laugh or for a beating.
Police Story always seems to be on people's criteria when judging any Jackie Chan film in the stunt and action department and it shows.

Welcome to CampusNut.com -- Movie Reviews
Police Story is about Kevin Chan (Chan) who is hired to protect the mobster’s girlfriend because she is a key witness who can bring down the entire Hong Kong mafia.
As he is trying to protect her from the mob boss who sends goons, he is mistakenly framed for a crime, gets in trouble with his girlfriend who thinks he is cheating on her, and gets into plenty of fights.
In this movie, he avoided any serious injuries, if you define serious injuries as falling 30 feet from a cliff and crashing your head against a rock (Armour of Gods) or getting clipped by the blades of a moving helicopter (Supercop).

Opus // Movie Reviews // New Police Story
New Police Story is the 5th film in the series (at least, in name only), and easily one of, if not the darkest and most somber film that Chan has made to date.
In one of the movie's most affecting and moving scenes (I never thought I'd use those words in a Jackie Chan review), Wing arrives at his fiance's apartment after being tricked by Fung, who is trying to reconcile the two.
However, the movie clearly tries so hard to be so much more than just another action-by-the-numbers film like so many of the ones Chan has made for Hollywood (and Hong Kong, for that matter).

The obvious Jackie Chan meets Gen-X Cops marketing aside, New Police Story is a suitably entertaining action picture that presents the aging Chan in a new light: as an aging cop whose life takes a precipitous tumble.

Ex-LA police officer Joseph Wambaugh was definitely one hot selling author in the early 1970's (and he still is today !).
Many of Wambaugh's sharply written, incisive and confronting novels about the lives of Los Angeles police officers were made into first rate telemovies or major theatrical releases ("The Onion Field", "The Choir Boys", "The New Centurions", "The Blue Knight" etc).
"Police Story" was also created by Wambaugh and is arguably one of the finest police drama series ever made for television.

Chan is quite simply the hardest-working movie star in the world, regularly participating in the sort of death-defying stuntwork which would make most American action heroes cringe in fear.
In this film, third in the Police Story series, Chan plays a Hong Kong detective working undercover with the Chinese police to nab a Malaysian druglord.
The usual hair-raising gamut of stunts follow, and numerous shootouts, fights and explosions surround the plucky cop as he combats bad guys atop a moving train, a bus, a motorcycle, a speedboat, cars, and trucks, eventually being swung through the city at high speed on a rope-ladder suspended from a helicopter.

After a police drug bust, Chan Ka Kui arrests Selina Fong, secretary to the suspected drug boss, and after an agreement to testify against her boss, Chan is assigned to protect her from any attempts on her life.
All the while, with her and others’ motives in question, Chan is forced to deal with keeping his job and upholding the honor of the police force.
The film straddles between comedy and drama as it shows a satirical view of the silly parts of police life, while it later ends up entirely convincing when it depicts the bold strength of commitment and sense of duty.

New Police Story is a fine return to form for Jackie, who may be a half-century old but still has the sensibilities of a 20-year-old with ADD.
The plot is standard fare for these sorts of things: after his squad is killed by a group of video-game-addicted rich kids who rob banks, Jackie's an alcoholic wreck with a year's paid leave to burn off.

trenchman.com - Movie Review - New Police Story
New Police Story (the fifth in Jackie Chan's series of Police Story movies) is a pretty slickly-made film: it has a sensible (if not particularly intelligent) story, decent production values, a handful of swell action scenes, and is directed reasonably well.
That said, the movie isn't really anything to get excited about; even for a brainless action flick, New Police Story is a pretty hollow film, filled with one-dimensional characters and situations.
Numerous wild, improbable crimefighting techniques, obviously, are employed during the course of their investigation (this is a Jackie Chan movie, after all); probably the most ridiculous involves Wing's reckless jump off of a skyscraper using only a pair of handcuffs and a rope to slow his descent.
