Mint officials recognized right away that the coins would tarnish quite quickly, however since the toning would only darken and further emphasize the color difference between the dollar and the quarter, this was not considered a detriment since the Susan B. Anthony dollar did not succeed due to its similarity to the quarter.
From 1942 through 1945, the composition of the coin was changed to what is known as the "wartime alloy" of 56 percent copper, 35 percent silver, and 9 percent manganese to allow the government to use nickel as a strategic material.

 Brief history of Polish monetary system
During the political turmoil of XI century these coins lost the value and had to be replaced in the latter half of the century.
Polish banknotes were issued in 1945 and coins in 1949 (then under the name of republic of Poland, without Peoples).
The new reform brought coins back to life – as since early 1990’s they were non existent in the transactions due to very small value (with some exceptions of 10,000 zlotys and 20,000 zlotys coins that were commemorative but quite common).

 Grading Coins
Where the condition on one side of a coin varies from that on the other side, it is common practice to report the two gradings separately.
The pair of pearls to the right of the diamond (known on 1910 coins as the 'Second Set of Pearls') are usually, but not always, smudged flat, leaving the other 'jewels' intact but slightly flattened (the 'Second Set of Pearls on George V coins are immediately to the left of the centre diamond).
On George V coins, the layout of the bands on the crown is similar to that on Edward VII coins.

Cutting up postage stamps and affixing parts of them to occupation banknotes was one way in which the French showed their objections to the Germans during the Second World War.
The Polish parody can be translated as "Germany lies (sleeps, breaks down) on all fronts." In Yiddish, the term translates to "Germany lies (false statements) on all fronts." Either way, this was an effective attack on Germany and the gallows a warning of retribution to come.
I could have added many more banknotes and leaflets but this is enough to give the reader an idea of what was being done on the front lines and in the occupied territories.
