Polissya is one of the most archaic regions of Ukraine that still keeps its exceptional local color.
Among other regions of Ukraine the striy of Polissya is distinguished by prepotency of bicolour white-red palette, lack of factory-made fabrics, and also by woven and printed decorative ornamentation of garments.
Typical for Polissya clothing were fitted silhouette of shoulder clothing (lace-jerkins, corset-vests, shirts) and broadened downward line of waist clothing ("litnyky", skirts made of factory-made fabrics, "skirts with a bib").
