After the war (with Russia until 1956 having a miltary base on leased land not that far from Helsinki) the Communist Party was included in every government as a matter of course.
Seen from Finland the reluctance of the other German parties to include their Left Alliance (with don't forget 25% of the vote in former Eastern Germany and 8%+ overall [4.9% in the former West Germany]) in even coalition discussions seems completely undemocratic.
The present road is mostly single lane and is full of long, heavy Russian car transporters going often in convoy (although perhaps less than before as they begin to realise that the roads in Finland are safe) and at the maximum speed limit allowed.
